Errors and what they mean

Upstream prints the reason and stops. These are the messages people hit before a game frame exists.

Unofficial notes. No game files, BIOS, firmware, keys, ROMs, or mirrored builds. Download each project only from its official GitHub repository.

Why does the relinker exit with code 1?

Code 1 is invalid arguments. Run relinker --help. Remember that an output name ending in .exe does not select Windows. Unknown flags and extra paths are errors.

Why does conversion exit with code 2?

Code 2 means the conversion itself failed. The reason is printed to stderr. On Intel, a supported AMD-only instruction may need --to-intel. An instruction that cannot be converted stops the relinker instead of emitting a file that would crash later.

The game prints runtime_error and closes. What happened?

Unsupported states throw std::runtime_error, print what() to stderr, and terminate. That is usually a library call or GPU path that is still unimplemented. Re-downloading the tool does not implement the missing function. Read stderr, then check the blocker map.

What is Windows error 193?

Error 193 (not a valid Win32 application) shows up when an original console module was placed in libs/. That folder is for AnyPS5 host libraries. Windows tries to load a console module as a DLL and refuses.

What is Windows error 126?

Error 126 (module not found) with the .prx file present usually means a MinGW runtime DLL is missing beside the libraries: libgcc_s_seh-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, or libwinpthread-1.dll. The v0.1.2 Windows archive includes them. A copy elsewhere on PATH is not used.

Why does direct memory fail on Windows?

The title can map up to 13824 MiB of direct memory, and Windows commits it at map time. If RAM plus the page file cannot cover that plus other programs, mapping throws. Enlarge the page file or close other applications. This is a commit-limit problem, not a missing download.

It stops and names a CPU extension. Can I ignore that?

No. Startup logs the host extensions and stops before title code if AVX2, FMA, F16C, BMI1, BMI2, LZCNT, or MOVBE is missing. The message names the CPU. There is no flag on this site that disables that check.

What is "open /dev/udmabuf: Permission denied"?

On Linux drivers that import dma-buf, shared direct memory uses /dev/udmabuf. Without access, ranges are copied instead and GPU stores can fail with "BDA access failed". Add your user to the device group (often kvm) and sign in again. The NVIDIA proprietary driver does not use this path.

ANYPS5_GPU did nothing. Why?

The value must be part of a device name printed on a "Physical device candidate" line, compared without regard to case. If no device matches, startup fails and lists the names it saw.

Windows crashes while listing Vulkan devices. What now?

The OpenCL, OpenGL, and Vulkan Compatibility Pack can install Mesa Dozen, which exposes D3D12 devices through Vulkan. Some D3D12 drivers crash during enumeration even if AnyPS5 would have picked a native device. If another Vulkan driver exists, set VK_LOADER_DRIVERS_DISABLE to *dzn* for that PowerShell session, then start the exe. Do not set it when Dozen is the only Vulkan driver.
