Steam Deck is a Linux PC with a Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 graphics. That is the right shape for a test, not a verified result.

Treat it as an experiment
As of 14 Oct 2026 this site has no verified Steam Deck gameplay report to cite. anyps5.org says its curated evidence does not verify a Deck configuration. A Deck-shaped PC is not a Deck result.
Use the Linux build
Desktop mode, the Linux relinker, and the prx-linux archive. Do not copy the Windows exe onto the Deck. Follow the install page, then come back.
Allow udmabuf if Mesa asks
On Linux Vulkan drivers that import dma-buf, shared memory goes through /dev/udmabuf. If startup says permission denied, add your user to the group that owns that device and sign in again. The NVIDIA proprietary driver path is different and is unlikely on a Deck.
Start from a small title
If you try anything, start from a title the ledger already shows in game, such as the DOOM homebrew or Dreaming Sarah. A 3D game with a cited 2 FPS tutorial on desktop Linux is a bad Deck test.
