Short answers, each tied to a longer page. Nothing here is a download of a game.

Unofficial notes. No game files, BIOS, firmware, keys, ROMs, or mirrored builds. Download each project only from its official GitHub repository.

What should I try before a PS5 emulator?

Use the order in the 10 Oct 2026 pcgaming.io guide. If the game has an official PC version, buy it on the store. That guide names Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade, with the Steam dates on the home page. If you own a PS5, PS Remote Play streams the game to a Windows PC. The guide says Sony lists Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11, a 7th-generation Intel Core or later, 2 GB of RAM, 100 MB of storage, and at least 5 Mbps each way (15 Mbps recommended), plus a DualSense, DualSense Edge, or DUALSHOCK 4 on USB. The same guide says Sony describes PS5 cloud streaming for PS5 consoles and PlayStation Portal, not for PC. If neither path fits, open the compatibility ledger.

Is there a PS5 emulator for PC?

Yes, and none of them is finished. On 15 Oct 2026 the public projects with official repositories were KytyPS5, SharpEmu, Prosperity, and AnyPS5. The first two emulate PS5 software. Prosperity also targets PS4 and currently ships a Linux package. AnyPS5 is a relinker, not an emulator process. Most games that start still crash, glitch, or run slowly.

KytyPS5 vs SharpEmu vs AnyPS5: which one?

If you want a PS5 emulator with Windows, Linux, and macOS release archives, start with KytyPS5 or SharpEmu and read that project's own compatibility list. SharpEmu's site on 15 Oct 2026 showed 42 playable reports out of 97 tested games, mostly smaller titles. KytyPS5 publishes daily builds and a separate community list. Use AnyPS5 only when you specifically want the relinker, and use its ledger on this site rather than a KytyPS5 screenshot. Use Prosperity when you are on Linux or Android and accept that Windows is still planned.

Do these projects need a PS5 BIOS download?

No legitimate file on this site is a BIOS, firmware image, key set, or game. KytyPS5 and SharpEmu say they do not ship copyrighted system software. Prosperity says you must supply your own system modules and games, and its documentation is the place for that requirement. A page that offers a "PS5 BIOS" zip is not one of these repositories.

Is PCSX5 a real PS5 emulator?

No. PCSX4 and PCSX5 are the names repeatedly documented as survey and malware funnels, including on the Emulation General Wiki scam list and in press guides from 2026. They are not early versions of KytyPS5 or SharpEmu. A real build is free, has a public GPL repository, and does not ask you to complete a survey.

What PC do I need for PS5 emulation?

KytyPS5 asks for Vulkan 1.3. Prosperity asks for Vulkan 1.4, 8 GB of VRAM, and 16 GB of RAM on Linux. SharpEmu asks for Vulkan and does not publish a RAM floor. AnyPS5 asks for specific x86-64 extensions and Vulkan 1.1, and on Windows it can commit up to 13824 MiB. None of those minimums is a recommended spec for a big game.

What is AnyPS5?

AnyPS5 is an open-source C++ tool that relinks a PS5 executable into a Windows PE or Linux ELF and supplies host implementations of console libraries. There is no separate emulator process. The repository is boykopovar/AnyPS5, GPL-2.0 only. v0.1.2 was published on 14 Oct 2026. The GitHub API on 15 Oct 2026 showed 37,185 stars. The 14 Oct count on this site was 36,495.

Is AnyPS5 an emulator?

No. The upstream README says it is a relinker plus dynamic libraries, not emulation and not a separate runtime process. shadPS4 is the PS4 emulator people confuse with it.

Where is the AnyPS5 Windows download?

The official v0.1.2 release on GitHub ships relinker-v0.1.2.exe and prx-windows-v0.1.2.zip. Linux has its own relinker binary and prx-linux archive. Do not use a third-party "AnyPS5 download" that bundles a game.

Does this site offer PS5 game downloads?

No. There are no game files, firmware images, keys, or account sharing. Compatibility notes and install steps for the tool are the whole product.

Which games are playable today?

The archived official table marks one title playable: Dreaming Sarah on Windows. DOOM shareware homebrew is listed in game on Windows and Linux, which is a weaker label. Other names on this site are community reports or explicit non-results.

What does "?" mean on the old table?

The archived Dreaming Sarah row uses "?" for Linux. It means nobody had filed a result for that cell. It does not mean the game failed.

Does AnyPS5 work on Steam Deck?

The Deck is a Linux x86-64 machine with Vulkan, so the Linux build is the one to try in desktop mode. As of 14 Oct 2026 this site cannot cite a verified Deck gameplay report. Read the Steam Deck page before you spend an evening on it.

AnyPS5 vs shadPS4: which one do I want?

Want a PS4 game such as Bloodborne: shadPS4. Want notes on a PS5 executable: AnyPS5. v0.1.1 did port font code that started from shadPS4's sceFont, which is why the names show up together. They are still different projects.

What PC do I need?

64-bit Windows or Linux, Vulkan 1.1, and a CPU that has the Zen 2 extensions the title uses. On Windows, plan for a commit limit that can cover up to 13824 MiB of mapped direct memory plus the rest of the system.

AnyPS5 is not working. Where do I look?

Read the exit code and stderr first. Codes 1 and 2 are conversion problems. A runtime_error after launch is a missing behavior in the host libraries or GPU path. Windows 126 and 193 are layout mistakes. The errors page lists the common ones.

Can I run AnyPS5 on a Mac?

You can build the relinker and emit an x86-64 Mach-O with --macos, plus --to-rosetta on Apple silicon. That is not an official macOS game runtime. A third-party Balatro note is a proof of concept, not a guide.

If the CPU is not emulated, why is it slow?

Shared instruction sets remove CPU translation. Shader compilation, synchronization, and copies between CPU and GPU remain. A 60 FPS result on a small 2D game does not predict a 3D game that is still missing GPU paths.

What shipped in AnyPS5 v0.1.2?

GitHub published v0.1.2 on 14 Oct 2026 with relinker binaries, Windows and Linux prx archives, USAGE.md, INPUT_MAPPING.md, and release-notes.md. The release notes themselves are mostly new contributors. Read the news post before assuming a compatibility jump.
