Pick the project whose own page names your game and your operating system. The table below is a map to those pages, checked 15 Oct 2026.
What each repository was on 15 Oct 2026
Star counts are GitHub's public counters on that date. Release labels are the tags this site recorded. CPU, GPU, and memory lines are paraphrases of each README, and the project page links the original.
| Project | Kind | Release | Systems | List |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KytyPS5C++, GPL-2.0 | PS5 translation layer | KytyPS5-2026-10-13-9e41d832026-10-13 | Windows 10 1803+ and current Linux are the tested targets. macOS is experimental: x86-64 builds under Rosetta 2 on Apple Silicon, Vulkan via bundled MoltenVK. | Project list |
| SharpEmuC#, GPL-2.0 | PS5 emulator | v0.0.5-nexus-release.22026-10-08 | Windows, Linux, and macOS. The 8 Oct 2026 release attached win-x64, linux-x64, and osx-x64 archives. The macOS build includes MoltenVK. | Project list |
| AnyPS5C++, GPL-2.0-only | Executable relinker | v0.1.22026-10-14 | Windows and Linux. The README describes a tool that ports PS5 executables to those hosts. macOS flags emit an x86-64 Mach-O. That is not a supported game runtime. | This ledger |
| ProsperityC++, GPL-2.0 | PS4 and PS5 emulator | v0.0.12026-10-03 | Linux AMD64 is tier 1. Linux ARM64 and Android are tier 2. Windows is tier 3 and described as planned. The only release asset on the v0.0.1 tag was prosperity_0.0.1_amd64.deb. | This ledger |

When the emulator is the right tool
KytyPS5 calls itself a PlayStation 5 translation layer based on a heavily modified Kyty. The README says it can boot 2D and 3D games, including Unreal Engine 4 and 5 and Unity titles, and that low-level emulation modules are not part of the design. It is not a finished emulator. Windows and Linux get the most testing. macOS is experimental: x86-64 builds under Rosetta 2, Vulkan through bundled MoltenVK. The README asks for Vulkan 1.3 and does not publish a RAM minimum.
SharpEmu is an experimental C# emulator. The README says testing uses dumps from consoles the developers own, and that the repository contains no copyrighted firmware or game data. The 8 Oct 2026 release attached win-x64, linux-x64, and osx-x64 archives. It asks for a Vulkan GPU and does not publish a RAM floor. Use its compatibility site when you want that project's labels, and do not paste those labels onto AnyPS5.
Prosperity, formerly PS4Delta, targets PS4 and PS5. CPU code runs on AMD64, or through FEX on ARM64. Graphics are translated to SPIR-V. The README asks for Vulkan 1.4, 8 GB of VRAM, and 16 GB of RAM on Linux. The only asset on the v0.0.1 tag was prosperity_0.0.1_amd64.deb. A Windows EXE with a BIOS pack is not this repository.
When the relinker is the right tool
AnyPS5 does not boot a game folder inside an emulator process. The relinker writes a Windows PE or a Linux ELF. Game CPU code then runs on the PC. Shaders still go through a Vulkan recompiler, so a clean exit is not gameplay. The host needs x86-64 extensions from the PS5's Zen 2 target: AVX2, FMA, F16C, BMI1, BMI2, LZCNT, and MOVBE. Vulkan 1.1 is the graphics floor. On Windows, direct memory can commit up to 13824 MiB when the title maps it.
macOS flags can emit an x86-64 Mach-O. That is not a supported game runtime. Intel hosts may need --to-intel because some AMD-only instructions are rewritten only in the file, not in code the game builds while it runs.
Projects this table leaves out
shadPS4 is a PS4 emulator. Bloodborne searches belong on the AnyPS5 versus shadPS4 page. Press also mentions RPCSX. This hub does not give it a page until we can cite a current official README the same way. PCSX5 is not an early name for any row in the table. It is a scam pattern.
